Vucic in talks in Davos about energy supplies for Serbia

DAVOS - Serbia is in talks with Romania about importing gas from the Black Sea and is open to discussions about getting gas from Russia through alternative routes, Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday, speaking for the Reuters' Global Markets Forum in Davos.

"We have just finished our talks with Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta about getting the gas from the Romanian part of Black Sea", Vucic said during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos.

"At the same time we are open to discuss all the possibilities to get the Russian gas through pipelines from Turkey, Greece, Macedonia to Serbia," the Serbian prime minister added.

The British news agency said that Serbia gets around 90 percent of its gas imports from Russia via Ukraine but that it is looking for alternative supply routes in the wake of Moscow's decision to abandon the project to build the South Stream gas pipeline.
