Exceptional documentaries at Magnificent 7 festival
BELGRADE - The 11th European Feature Documentary Film Festival Magnificent 7 will be held at Belgrade's Sava Centar from January 30 to February 5, the organisers have stated.
Festival Selector Tue Steen Mueller from Denmark picked excellent, modern documentaries for this year's festival, originating from the Netherlands, the UK, Spain, Denmark, Portugal, Finland and France.
The New Rijksmuseum - The Film by Oeke Hoogendijk will start the festival. It follows the years-long reconstruction of the most important museum in Amsterdam.
Virunga by Orlando von Einsiedel about the magnificent national park in Congo will be up next, followed by Messi, directed by Alex de la Iglesia and focusing on the football star Lionel Messi, and Democrats by Camilla Nielsson, which is regarded as one of the best Danish documentaries in the past several years.
There are also Suddenly My Thoughts Halt by Jorge Pelicano, Garden Lovers by Virpi Suutari, which takes the audience into the wonderful world of gardens, despite the cold Finnish weather, and finally Rules of the Game by Claudine Bories and Patrice Chagnard.
The audience will be able to talk to the authors after the screenings, as they will hold master classes for young film directors and producers, which is something this festival has fostered from the very beginnings.
Tickets can be bought at the Sava Centar ticket office or through Eventim for RSD 400.
