Serbian parliament delegation to visit Strasbourg

BELGRADE - The standing delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will represent Serbia at the first part of the PACE plenary session in Strasbourg from January 26 to 31.

During the session, PACE members will discuss the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, freedom of the media, discrimination and lack of tolerance in Europe, the issue of equality in the times of crisis, rights of persons with disabilities and the relations between the Council of Europe and the European Union, states the release issued by the Serbian parliament Public Relations Department.

A request was also submitted for the debate on the terrorist attack in Paris to be staged on urgent procedure, states the release.

Also, MPs will elect a Serbian judge in the European Court of Human Rights by secret ballot.

The standing delegation of the Serbian parliament to PACE will be headed by delegation head Aleksandra Djurovic, states the release.
