ForMin Aurescu, about Moldova: It is important to form the gov't as soon as possible

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bogdan Aurescu, on Monday stated, while referring to the political situation in the Republic of Moldova, that it is important that the authorities in Chisinau form the government as soon as possible.

"I took note of the agreement that was signed on Friday for the creation of the Alliance for European Moldova. We believe that it is important for the government to be created as soon as possible and we believe that a pro-European governing programme is needed in the Republic of Moldova, a government to continue the reform process in the European spirit, while fully complying with the European standards, and also to continue to walk on the path that will lead the country to the European Union," Aurescu stated at the headquarters of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He also said that the implementation by the Republic of Moldova of the Association Agreement and of the Free Trade Agreement is also "extremely important."

PLDM [Moldovan Liberal Democratic Party] and PD [Democratic Party] on Friday announced an agreement was signed on building a minority parliamentary coalition to leave Liberals out and include communist and socialists, in order to hold a vote for the election of the Parliament Speaker and the investiture of the Government.

President of the Republic of Moldova, Nicolae Timofti, on Tuesday convened the factions with representatives in Parliament to consultations, for the purpose of designating a candidate for Prime Minister, the local mass media informed. AGERPRES
