Stefanovic, Frattini on EU integration
BELGRADE - Nebojsa Stefanovic, Serbian minister of the interior, and Franco Frattini, Serbian government's advisor on the EU integration, have agreed that the fight against corruption and crime are identified as priorities, and concluded that the opening of new negotiating chapters in the EU accession negotiations can be expected in the months to come.
Stefanovic and Frattini touched on the issue of arrest of politicians, and Frattini commended the fight against corruption and crime, reads the statement.
Stefanovic underlined that the latest arrests of politicians show that no one is spared in the fight against corruption.
"We have submitted the second draft action plan for Chapter 24 to the European Commission last week, and we expect to receive comments on the document in the next three to four weeks," Stefanovic said.
