Delegation of the Spanish Armed Forces visits Serbia

KRUSEVAC - A delegation of the Spanish Armed Forces visited the Serbian Armed Forces (VS) Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Defense Training Center in Krusevac and discussed cooperation in that area with their Serbian counterparts on Thursday.

After being introduced to basic information about the work of the VS CBRN defense system, the guests from Spain were shown the center's training infrastructure and equipment, and introduced to the work of the 246th CBRN Battalion's platoon for participation in multinational operations under the framework of the Operational Capabilities Concept (OCC).

They were also shown the CBRN training grounds and facilities at the Ravnjak military complex, the VS said in a release on its website.

The Spanish military officials were briefed about the courses that are in process of accreditation by NATO Allied Command Transformation, the forthcoming multinational civil and military exercise "Balkan Response 2015" and opportunities for CBRN cooperation in the future.

The delegation from Spain was headed by Colonel Felipe Chorro Vizcaino, head of the CBRN School of Spanish Armed Forces Army Engineer Academy, and VS Training Command Deputy Commander, Brigadier General Jelesije Radivojevic, was present during the visit, the VS said.
