PM Ponta: Minimum gross wage to be raised at 1,200 lei in 2016

Prime Minister Victor Ponta announced on Thursday a raise of the minimum gross wage to 1,200 lei in 2016, following an advance to 1,050 lei in July this year. (current exchange rate 1 leu = 0.225 euros).

'I think setting an ever higher limit of the minimum income paid for work, involving further taxes, is a measure that can help us concretely change some things,' Ponta said at a debate organized by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation on the national strategy for social inclusion and abatement of poverty.AGERPRES
