Henri Coanda Bucharest International Airport, 4th in Europe in terms of traffic increase in 2014
Henri Coanda Bucharest International Airport has been ranked at no. 4 by Airports Council International-Europe in the European rankings of airports that recorded the highest increase in air traffic in 2014, within the category of airports that saw between 5 and 10 million passengers.

'On the first three places in this category were Basel, Lanzarote (Canary Islands) and Naples Airports, with the 5th place having been taken by Porto,' reads a release of National Company Bucharest Airports (CNAB).
In the category of airports with more than 25 million passengers, the rankings are made up of Istanbul, Moscow Sheremetyevo, London Gatwick, Moscow Domodedovo and Barcelona. In the category of 10 to 25 million passengers, ranking first were Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen, Athens, Brussels, Lisbon and London Stansted airports, and placed in the category of under 5 million passengers were Chisinau, Santorini, Belgrade, Mikonos and Maribor airports.
In 2014, the two airports of Bucharest ? Henri Coanda Bucharest International Airport and Bucharest Baneasa-Aurel Vlaicu International Airport saw a record number of 8,321,858 passengers and 102,048 aircraft movements (landings and takeoffs). Of this total, Henri Coanda Airport recorded 8,317,168 passengers and 91,788 aircraft movements.
Compared to 2013, the number of passengers who transited Bucharest airports in 2014 rose by 8.8%.
The trend of the number of passengers on the two airports of National Company Bucharest Airports exceeds the general tendency in Europe, of 4.9%.
