Agreement to open WHO country office in Turkey comes into force
The World Health Organization will soon open an office in Turkey after a regulation from the cabinet to that effect was published in the Official Gazette on Feb. 11.
There has been an office of the WHO Country Representative for Turkey in Ankara, but a country office will now be opened following an agreement between the Turkish government and the WHO Regional Office for Europe.
The establishment of the WHO Country Office in Turkey aims to promote the implementation of WHO health programs in Turkey, develop effective international collaboration in the field of health, work as a focal point for WHO resource mobilization activities in Turkey and ensure that WHO documents and publications are available and accessible in Turkey.
