McAllister arrives to stay in Belgrade for several days
BELGRADE - European Parliament (EP) Rapporteur on Serbia David McAllister has arrived in Belgrade, where he will stay for a few days and hold meetings with senior government officials and representatives of the opposition and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
I am sincerely looking forward to visiting Belgrade. I am coming to Serbia to talk, but above all to listen, so that my report on Serbia's European integration progress could be as balanced as possible, said McAllister told Tanjug ahead of the visit.
Over the next three days, McAllister will have separate meetings with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, Minister without Portfolio in charge of European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic and Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic.
He will also meet with Ombudsman Sasa Jankovic, leaders of opposition parties and representatives of the diplomatic corps, business sector and NGOs.
The rapporteur will present an updated version of a report on Serbia to the European Parliament later this month, and the EP will adopt it in the form of a resolution following a relevant debate in March.
