Kosovo Swimming Federation admitted into FINA

LAUSANNE - The International Swimming Federation (FINA) granted full membership to the Kosovo Swimming Federation, FINA posted on its website.

According to the short release, the decision to admit the Kosovo Swimming Federation as the 208th FINA member was adopted at the FINA Bureau.

In this way, swimmers from Kosovo obtained the permission to compete at the Kazan World Championship from July 24 to August 9.

The permission to compete was also granted to the Kosovo water polo team but they will need to fight for participation in future major competitions through qualification rounds.

Late in 2014, Kosovo was admitted in the International Olympic Committee and the talks on its membership in the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) should be conducted next month.
