Russian pressure on Vu?i?
Russian television "Russia Today (RT)" intensely criticized Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vu?i? and his government.
Television controlled by Vladimir Putin criticized Vu?i? and Serbian government because of their cooperation with company owned by Tony Blair, former Prime Minister of Great Britain.
RT broadcasted two TV reports in two days, in primetime, in which the television condemned Aleksandar Vu?i? because of his cooperation with Blair. RT accused him of "hiring the man who bombed Serbia", and the entire report was illustrated with pictures and videos of demolished Serbian cities, bridges and human casualties during the NATO aggression in 1999.
Vu?i?'s decision to cooperate with Blair, who has an extremely negative reputation among Serbian citizens because of his aggressive propaganda for bombing Serbia in 1999., is very controversial. But, according to sources who contacted "Blic", reasons for Russian dissatisfaction with Serbia are deeper than Blair's employment.
Moscow is afraid that Belgrade will choose the West, and the trigger for television attack on Vu?i? is his agreement with Joe Biden about Serbian gas supply from the USA. Also, there are often demands from the EU which are very clear: Serbia must decide between friendship with Russia and membership in the EU. This especially refers to diversification of gas supply - demand that Serbia stop the practice in which gas supplies depends only from Russia.
There is an opinion in Serbian government that this is the real reason because RT criticized Vu?i?.
-No one from Moscow criticized Vu?i? because he consulted Gerhard Schroeder, who was also involved in NATO aggression, Probably because today he is one of the heads...
