Crvena Zvezda suffers defeat in Madrid

MADRID - The Crvena Zvezda basketball team lost 85-61 (16-18, 24-11, 20-17, 25-15) to the home team of Real in Madrid in a match of the eighth round of the Euroleague Top 16 on Thursday evening.

The basketball players, led by head coach Dejan Radonjic, suffered their seventh defeat in Group E, staying near the bottom of the rankings. They still have some theoretical chances of reaching the next phase of the tournament.

On the other side, Real upped its lead, and practically secured its place in the quarterfinals.

In the next, ninth round of Group E, Crvena Zvezda will welcome Tel Aviv's Maccabi on March 5.
