Rovana Plumb to run for Chair of Social Democrats' National Council

Rovana Plumb, Minister of Labour and chair of the Women's Organization of the Social Democrat Party (PSD) announced on Saturday her intention to candidate for the position of Chair of the National Council of her party.

She announced her candidacy at an event organized by the Social Democrat Women on Saturday to launch public debates on the 'Pact for Women's Dignity'; Prime Minister Victor Ponta, the head of the PSD, attended.

Plumb was proposed as PSD National Council Chair by the leader of the Social Democrat MEPs, Viorica Dancila.

'I will candidate for this position (...) I think we need making together the National Councils a structure able to connect the party to our members of the Parliament and of the Government. I want to run because I want to be your strong voice, [the voice] of everybody in the PSD, on the public stage. Yes, I want to team with Victor Ponta, I want to team with [PSD vice president] Liviu Dragnea for a new successful project of the PSD. I want to team with every one of you and we the other women back home, whom I respect, esteem and love, because I want Romania to have a successful project, a good governance for all Romanians,' Plumb declared.

The aforementioned project proposed by the Social Democrat Women's Organizations introduces a set of public measures and policies.
