Calin Goia, the lead singer of Voltaj band which is to represent Romania to Eurovision 2015 told a press conference on Sunday night that the goal of his band is to win the European contest, the participation in this event being an advantage for the message of their song "De la capat / Over Again".

Voltaj won the national selection by getting 24 points, with the specialized jury and public vote weighing 50 percent each.

"To get 24 points out of 24 is very honouring. We already make plans to get higher, even beyond the second place. We have an English version too of our song, and my greatest joy is that this campaign goes further. The children are supported from many parts. It won't leave Europe uninterested," Calin Goia said.

A huge campaign with beneficiaries the Romanian children left alone while their parents have taken off to work abroad is linked with the name of the song to represent Romania in the European contest.

Goia added that he hoped the Europeans would understand both the emotional dimension of the song and the fact that most of the Romanians who left their country "work hard, with honesty."

"I don't believe that to us as a band will be any significant change, but it is beneficial for our message. I hoped. We were among favourites and what we did was to prepare ourselves better. (...) We go there to win," Calin Goia stressed. AGERPRES
