Iohannis in Poland: After years of disappointments, we will build a Romania never to abandon
AGERPRES special correspondent Florentina Peia reports: Romania's President Klaus Iohannis said Thursday in Warsaw, Poland, that after years of disappointments and failures a new Romania will be built which citizens will no longer feel like abandoning.

"After years of disappointments and failures, I am telling you today in all earnestness that we will be able to build together that Romania that we want, a place where all of us will be happy to live, which we do not feel like abandoning and where you could return with open heart. No matter how many efforts or sacrifices that may entail, we will managed, using vision, calmness and patience, to build a Romanian society where democratic values, trust in institutions and the rule of law, tolerance, respect for work, education and culture prevail. The reconstruction has already started. We have started off a process that is not easy at all, but nevertheless necessary, to change the face of politics in Romania and overhaul the political organisations. Undoubtedly, an essential aspect in this chapter is securing the conditions for the participation of Romanians abroad in the electoral process," Iohannis said in a speech at the Romanian Embassy in Warsaw.
He added that he wants to find out about the problems facing Romanians abroad. "My intention is to meet as many Romanians as possible in my visits who live and work far from home. As President of all Romanians, wherever they may be, I want to get to know them, to listen to them and tell them how much I value them.
