Budget surplus at RSD 5.9 billion
BELGRADE - The total budget surplus since the start of 2015 is RSD 5.9 billion, Finance Minister Dusan Vujovic has said.
"In part, the surplus is caused by the fact that we are spending money more slowly," he said on Wdnesday, during a parliament debate on a bill meant to limit property management in order to prevent terrorism.
The money is being spent more slowly because investments have not been realised and because the funds meant for land expropriation are used less than it was planned in the budget, he noted.
There have been good results in collecting VAT and excise taxes since the start of the year, which indicates that Serbia is on the right track, he pointed out.
The country's public debt is RSD 2,929 billion, and the debt in euros has gone up by EUR 100 million since the start of the year, he said.
