Chiritoiu: Restructuring of Hunedoara, Oltenia Energy Complexes to affect Romania's electricity market
Romania's electricity market will be affected this year by the implementation of the restructuring plans at the Hunedoara and Oltenia Energy Complexes, but these measures are set forth in the understandings with the international financial institutions, the stakes being the state aid, says Competition Council's President Bogdan Chiritoiu.

"In terms of energy, I believe the most important goal is the state aid. As part of the assistance granted to Romania by international institutions, we are trying to fix the problems at Hunedoara Energy Complex and probably also those to arise at Oltenia Energy Complex," Bogdan Chiritoiu told a Thursday's relevant conference.
The Competition Council's president added that we would probably see in the coming months how "dramatic" the restructuring at the two energy producers would be. However, he adds the capacity reductions at the two state-owned companies, included in the restructuring plans, will affect the entire electricity market.
According to Chiritoiu, the report drawn up by the Competition Council on the energy market will be finalized in a few weeks. AGERPRES
