Dance company Russian Cossacks to tour Serbia, RS
BELGRADE - The state dance company Russian Cossacks will tour Serbia and Republika Srpska (RS) in early April with their latest production celebrating 70 years of the victory over fascism.
For this production, the Russian Cossacks received an award from the Russian government at the Kremlin in February.
The first concert will take place at Borik Hall in Banja Luka on April 1, the second at Centre Sava in Belgrade on April 4, and the third at the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad on April 5.
During the performance, the Russian Cossacks use props made on the model of museum exhibits: costumes, cannon, sabers, rifles, with which world-class artists depict the real life of the Cossacks and the victory over fascism in an explosion of energy, rhythm and passion.
The dance company, also referred to as "the flying Cossacks" and "the great Cossack ballet", received many national and international awards.
Famous Russian choreographer Leonid Milovanov, who has the title of Russia's national artist, has been the company's artistic director for 25 years now.
