Danielsson: Focus on continuation of judiciary reform
BELGRADE - Serbia is expected to pay attention to the continuation of reforms in the judiciary, public administration and protection of fundamental human and minority rights and freedoms, Director General of the European Commission Directorate General for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Christian Danielsson said on Thursday.
During a meeting with the chair and members of the Serbian parliament European Integrations Committee, Danielsson confirmed the willingness of the European Commission to contribute to more efficient European integration process through joint efforts with Serbia.
Chair of the Serbian parliament European Integrations Committee Aleksandar Senic informed Danielsson about the activities the committee and the parliament are implementing in the European integration process, and expressed the belief that the most important negotiating chapters that cover the judiciary, justice, freedom and security would be opened by the end of the year.
Senic underscored the active role of Serbia in promoting regional cooperation and good neighbourly relations, states the release issued by the parliament.
