Meeting of National Convention with EC official

BELGRADE- Director General of the European Commission (EC) Directorate General for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Christian Danielsson conferred with representatives of the National Convention on the EU during his official visit to Serbia.

The Wednesday meeting focused on Serbia's EU accession and the participation of the civil society in the process, the National Convention on the EU released on Thursday.

The Coordinator of the National Convention Natasa Dragojlovic presented the structure of the organisation and the mechanisms of coordination and announced prompt release of the book of recommendations for improvement of the negotiating process.

The talks between Danielsson and coordinators of Convention's working groups in charge of monitoring the talks on Chapters 23 and 24, as the chapters that will probably be the first to open in the negotiating talks, covered communication and cooperation with state bodies.
