Djokovic reaches Indian Wells semi-finals via walkover

BELGRADE - Serbia's Novak Djokovic has been gifted a place in the Indian Wells semi-finals when Bernard Tomic of Australia pulled out citing a back injury.

Tomic's withdrawal was announced a few hours before the start of Thursday's program cancelling the match scheduled for Friday 03:00 CET.

World No. 1 and Indian Wells defending champion Djokovic will have an additional day of rest ahead of the next round match.

Djokovic's semifinal opponent on Saturday will be British Andy Murray, who previously defeated Feliciano Lopez of Spain 6-3, 6-4.

Djokovic owns a 16-8 edge over Murray.
