Pajtic, Fajon discuss human rights, media freedom

BELGRADE - Leader of the Democratic Party (DS) Bojan Pajtic talked on Friday with Tanja Fajon, vice-chair of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament, and voiced concern about infringements of media freedom and a low level of political dialogue.

Pajtic informed Fajon about the human rights situation in Serbia, and underscored that the DS is committed to EU integration, and the opening of accession talks as soon as possible.

Pajtic placed a special emphasis on the recent police visits to the premises of the DS municipal committees in Krusevac and Kragujevac, the DS press office stated.

Fajon, who is also an official of Slovenia's Social Democrats, underlined the need for respecting the ombudsman and other independent institutions, reads the release.
