Law on inspection oversight to curb grey economy
BELGRADE - The inspection oversight bill will be on the agenda of the parliament on April 2 and, most importantly, it will contribute to reducing the grey economy, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Kori Udovicki, who also heads a coordination body for curbing the grey economy, said on Thursday.
"All inspectorates will now have the authority to also carry out inspections of non-registered entities in their fields of authority and will be obligated to draw the attention of other inspectorates to irregularities concerning their work," Udovicki told Tanjug.
Another significant feature of the bill is that it envisions establishing a database that will be used to carry out risk assessment for entities that should become subject to inspection, she said.
The number of inspection oversights will depend on the risk assessment and will be included in the work plan, she said.
Once an oversight is completed, there will be a checklist of what inspectors can address, which will reduce room for corruption significantly, Udovicki explained.
