Customs service "to intensify work" during Easter

BELGRADE -- Serbian customs services "will intensify work" during the upcoming Easter holidays and take all measures to prevent unnecessary waiting at border crossings.

The Customs Administration made the announcement on Friday.

The busiest crossings, such as Horgos with Hungary, will keep all available lanes open for traffic - six for automobiles and one for buses - and ensure more officers per shift.

All other border crossings will work at higher intensity as well.

The information concerning personal luggage, pets, and the amount of money that passengers are allowed to bring into and out of the country, is available on the Customs Administration website, the release states.

The holiday rush is expected around April 5, when Serbia's minority Catholics and Protestants celebrate Easter, and on April 12, when the country's majority Orthodox population will mark the holiday, according to their separate calendars.
