Awareness event aiming to highlight the problems of people with disabilities

Athens municipality in collaboration with the Association of Social Responsibility for Children and Adolescents organized on Saturday a simulation action for people with disabilities.

At least 30 people including the well known, popular actor and councilman Antonis Kafetzopoulos appeared in Syntagma square in wheelchairs.

At the same time some other volunteers experienced the perception of people with visual impairments, by placing blindfolds over their and using a stick to help them move around Syntagma Square.

As Antonis Kafetzopoulos stated to protothema.gr after his experience in the wheelchair “It is very hard for people with physical disabilities to move around, is a problem that should concern us all. Our country is in a primitive stage of facilitating people with mobility problems in cities “.

Many people who are not experiencing mobility problems accepted the call to experience what people with physical disabilities face in a daily basis and sat in a wheelchair and with guidance moved in the streets of Athens.
