Djokovic scores expected victory in Miami Open third round

MIAMI - World's best tennis player Novak Djokovic qualified for the fourth round of the Miami Open as he defeated Belgium's Steve Darcis in the third round match late on Monday (CET), 6-0, 7-5.

This was the second match between the best Serbian tennis player and the Belgium veteran, 31, who currently ranks 84th on the ATP list.

In the fight for the quarterfinal, Djokovic will play against the world's 65th tennis player Alexandr Dolgopolov of Ukraine who beat Brazil's Thomaz Bellucci, 7-5, 6-4.

The Serbian player won all three mutual duels so far, the last being the match at the tournament in Rome in 2013.

The prize fund of the Florida tournament totals USD 6.26 million. Djokovic claimed Miami titles previously on four occasions, in 2007, 2011, 2012 and 2014.
