Bill on inspection control forwarded to parliament

BELGRADE - The Parliamentary Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government accepted in principle on Wednesday the bill on inspection control.

The bill was forwarded to the parliament, which is to table it for discussion at its Thursday's session.

Kori Udovicki, deputy prime minister and minister of public administration and local self-government, said for Radio and Television of Serbia on Tuesday evening that the major contribution of this bill will be to directly reduce grey economy.

This is a complex job, because the operation needs to be harmonized and the jurisdiction of 37 different inspections must be determined, she said.

The law on inspection control will not start functioning perfectly immediately, not even after a few years of implementation, but it will considerably change the economic environment and responsibility in functioning of the public administration, Udovicki said.

The minister also announced that the bill on general administrative procedure should reach the parliament in June.
