Draft action plan for Chapter 24 by end of April in EC
BELGRADE - The cooperation between government institutions and the NGO sector is exceptionally important in the drafting of the action plan for Chapter 24 the third version of which should be sent to the European Commission by the end of April, officials said during the Friday meeting on the subject.
State Secretary in the Serbian Interior Ministry Aleksandar Nikolic underscored the importance of cooperation with the NGO sector and called on the NGO representatives to submit their comments and suggestions by April 10.
The action plan needs to cover police reform which is not an easy task. We will try to make sure that the third draft of the action plan for chapter 24 on justice, freedom and safety is the final one, Nikolic said.
Director of the Belgrade Centre for Security Policy Sonja Stojanovic Gajic underscored that the goal of the Friday meeting was to clarify dilemmas and eliminate vague points.
We can prove to the EU that Serbia knows what and how it wants to achieve in order to meet the conditions for EU membership, she said.
