DS demands special parliament session on helicopter crash
BELGRADE - The Democratic Party (DS) will submit a request to Serbian Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic for the parliament to set up an inquiry committee aimed to establish all facts related to the helicopter crash that claimed seven lives on March 13, DS deputy leader Gordana Comic said Monday.
The Democrats will also demand a special parliament session where the relevant ministers and "other responsible persons" will answer the MPs questions on this matter, added Comic.
The DS deputy leader, who is also the party's shadow defense minister, said in a written statement that the DS will keep demanding the answers to which the citizens of Serbia are entitled.
A Serbian military helicopter crashed near Belgrade airport on March 13 while rushing a sick newborn baby from Novi Pazar, southwest Serbia, killing all seven people on board. The Belgrade-based High Public Prosecutor's Office stated that the crew was primarily to blame for the crash.
