Venture Beat: Bulgarian Programmers Rank Best in the World
Bulgarian programmers are the leaders in the best reputation ranking on a global scale, as revealed by an analysis conducted by US media Venture Beat Monday.
The review has been based upon the expertise of 14,898 out of the 3,5 million programmers registered on the Stack Overflow Q&A platform for coders.
Surprisingly enough, the US is not on the top of the charts, but rather fell to the 53rd spot.
Users of the online portal vote up or down the answers of other users, thus accumulating a huge database on the performance of various groups.
Bulgaria ranked first incontestably, with an average reputation score of 33 649, thus noting 57,21 top users per capita. A total of 40 Bulgarian users had the extremely high + 5,000 ranking in the system, but the overall performance of all the rest of the platform users gave them the ''rockstar'' status.
The small Balkan country surpassed by far the second in the ranking - Peru, and third - Singapore. In terms of country performance, the US came in 15th.
Meanwhile, New Zealand and Sweden led the ranking of nations with most top-ranked users per capita.
