FK Partizan condemns attack on Vucelic's property

BELGRADE - The FK Partizan board of directors has vehemently condemned the criminal attack on the property of club Vice President Milorad Vucelic.

In a statement published on its website, the club said that it is confident that the authorities will find the perpetrators of the criminal act and discover their motives, expressing hope that the motives will not be associated with Vucelic's involvement in football.

"In accordance with his post and the internal distribution of duties in the club management, he has recently voiced FK Partizan's positions on decisions of club bodies and overall developments in Serbian football publicly on several occasions, in a way that certainly is not, and should not be, a reason for this criminal act", the statement said.

"Unfortunately, among supporters of all clubs, there are people who are prone to violence and football officials have the special responsibility to not escalate passions or cause tensions among supporters by public statements," the statement said.

Condemning the act of vandalism, the editorial staff of the Pecat weekly, whose editor-in-chief is Vucelic, said on Wednesday that a Molotov cocktail was thrown at his family house in Crvenka late Tuesday.
