PM in Easter greetings to Church and believers
BELGRADE -- Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic on Friday sent his Easter greetings to the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) patriarch, clergy, and believers.
Serbian Orthodox Christians today mark Good Friday and will on Sunday celebrate Easter.
Vucic, on behalf of the government, said in his message that "only with diligence, hard work, and perseverance can all problems that look unsolvable be overcome."
He added that "this holiday reminds us that great deeds are preceded by great sacrifices."
"I am firmly convinced that we will persevere on this road, together with our Serb Orthodox Church, and in the end see joy," Vucic said in his message, ending it with the traditional Easter greeting exchanged by Serbian believers, "Christ is risen - indeed he is risen."
Vucic also took to Twitter this Friday to post two messages tagged #Vaskrs (Serbian for Easter) and reading, "I congratulate the greatest Christian holiday of Easter to all believers! On this holiday, we remind ourselves that great deeds are preceded by great sacrifices," and, "The Lord won over the invincible, and each of us with work and persistence can win over problems that seem unsolvable. CHRIST IS RISEN!"
