Volleyball-Vojvodina wins Challenge Cup

LISBON - Vojvodina volleyball club won the first European club trophy for Serbia after claiming two sets inb the second leg of the 2015 Challenge Cup final, which it lost to Benfica 3-2 (24-26, 21-25, 25-16, 25-23, 15-10) in Lisbon on Sunday.

Vojvodina cruised to a comfortable 3-1 in the first leg in Novi Sad, and needing only two sets in the second to win the competition, they were off to a flying start and did exactly that with the first two in Lisbon.

This a historic achievement for the club as well, being their first and victorious European final, following bronze medals won in the 1983 edition of the Winners Cup and in the 1989 and 1996 editions of the Champions Cup.
