"No evidence found of corruption in EULEX"

BRUSSELS -- No evidence has been found to support allegations of corruption in the EU mission in Kosovo, EULEX.

This finding is contained in the report submitted by a legal expert appointed by EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini last November to investigate the claims.

Jean Paul Jacque was appointed "to review EULEX Kosovo mandate implementation with a focus on the handling of the corruption allegations."

Jacquet's report has been submitted to Mogherini. The expert claims he found no evidence to support the allegations, but noted "a number of ommissions in the work of the European rule of law mission and made recommendations to eliminate those."

"I received the report of Professor Jacquet and in accordance with the promise of transparency I today sent it to European Parliament and to representatives of member countries,"Mogherini said in a press release.

She also "thanked Jacquet" and added that "competent services of the EU are looking for the best way to implement his recommendations."
