Czech Republic will help Serbia on its EU path

BELGRADE - Serbia has achieved real progress in finding a solution to the Kosovo issue by working together with local authority officials, said Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Drulak, adding that his country will try to help Serbia on its EU path.

You have succeeded, together with the representatives of the Kosovo authorities, in finding ways to address numerous practical issues, said Drulak at the Faculty of Political Sciences, where he gave a lecture on the role of Central Europe and Western Balkans in European politics.

He added that the Czech Republic should help its EU partners to understand the problems that Serbia is facing.

Asked if Serbia's EU integration will be affected by its refusal to impose sanctions against Russia, Drulak replied that Serbia is not a member of the EU yet and that no one should expect it to fulfill all the obligations as the member states.

On the other hand, the more you cooperate, the more support you will get from Brussels, said Drulak.
