Deputy parliament speaker meets with Chinese delegation

BELGRADE - Serbia's Deputy Parliament Speaker Veroljub Arsic said during a meeting Monday with Wu Zhiming, chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Shanghai Municipal Committee, that increasing the volume of trade between Serbia and China should be a priority.

During the meeting with the Chinese delegation headed by Wu at the Serbian parliament, Arsic pointed out that friendly relations between the two countries were reflected in the fact that China had not recognized the unilaterally proclaimed Kosovo independence, as well as through good economic cooperation.

There is always room for improvement of cooperation, especially business cooperation, and increasing trade is of vital significance, Arsic said, according to a release from the Serbian parliament.

Wu said that Serbia had much potential for economic development and that he believed there was room to intensify cooperation between the two countries in the field of culture.
