KRAGUJEVAC - Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Kori Udovicki stated on Wednesday that she is satisfied with the results achieved in the first year of the government's work and added that important foundations for changes have been built.
We have been waiting for 15 years to see one such year be invested in thorough preparations and we have created the foundations, Udovicki told reporters in Kragujevac. She noted that the law on inspection supervision has been adopted and that the mid-term EU budget assistance to the total amount of EUR 80 million has been ensured for public administration reform in the period 2016-2018 thanks to the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, and that the draft law on public administration salaries has been prepared.
The law on inspection supervision is the key law the implementation of which will pose a major challenge, but it was adopted with the consent of all relevant sides, Udovicki said. The law will contribute to the reform of the administration's work and citizens and the economy will feel the benefits of its implementation in three years, Udovicki said after the talks with officials of seven municipalities of the Sumadija District in Kragujevac on Wednesday.
