Mali: Large projects give life to cities, countries
BELGRADE - Belgrade Mayor Sinisa Mali stated Thursday at the opening of the Capital Summit 2015 that direct networking of capitals becomes increasingly important for communication, cooperation and economic integration of countries.
"The countries of Central and Southeast Europe should provide a favorable environment for implementation of new large projects," Mali said, adding that large projects bring life to cities, countries and entire regions, which is something the Belgrade Waterfront project is also expected do.
He invited the participants to open a new chapter of regional cooperation and exchange of experience so as to create conditions for a better life and progress. Commitment to regional cooperation and common progress implies establishment of strong ties and greater influence at the global level for the benefit of citizens, he stressed.
We have a great opportunity to continue working on rapprochement of our capitals, strengthening of regional cooperation, encouraging economic cooperation and investments, Mali noted.
Expressing hope that such meetings will continue to exist, Mali stated that Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic proposed that the Croatian capital could host the next summit.
