Romania ranked 3rd among countries participating in the RobotChallenge competition in Vienna

Romania, represented by the team of the Polytechnic University of Bucharest - Harder - Better - Faster - Stronger - ranked third among the nations that participated in the RobotChallenge competition held in Vienna, after collecting two golden medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal.

According to a press release sent by the University to AGERPRES on Thursday, the team coordinated by University Lecturer Stefan Mocanu, was made up of students and masters students from the Faculty of Automatic Control and Computer Science, Automatic Control and Industrial Informatics Department, of the Polytechnic University of Bucharest: Ionut Cristian Dobre (second year student), Mihai Craciunescu (first year master's student), Andrei Duluta (second year student).

The team's robots, called "Fatty" and "Skinny" participated in two of this competition's events ? Line Follower and Line Follower Enhanced respectively, reaching up to the 1st and 2nd positions in the first event and up to the 1st and 3rd positions in the second event.

In the Line Follower event, the robots built from scratch by the students were supposed to follow a black line on a white background as quickly as possible, while in the enhanced version they were supposed to additionally overcome unexpected obstacles on the course ? a swivel bridge and a brick. Already becoming a tradition of the competition in Vienna, this year's circuit was represented by the scale reproduction of the Hungaroring motor-racing Formula One circuit.
