Over 1,000 construction permits issued by unified procedure

VRANJE - It is estimated that over 1,000 construction permits have been issued in Serbia through a unified procedure for permit issuance within the maximum period of 28 days which was introduced almost two months ago, Serbian Minister of Construction Zorana Mihajlovic stated on Friday.

Addressing reporters in Vranje, Mihajlovic said that the process of permit issuance is transferred to local self-governments which need to meet all the requirements of investors.

Mihajlovic said that the data received from local self-governments show that 850 construction permits have been issued pursuant to the new procedure, but she added that some local self-governments have not submitted their data yet.

Mihajlovic announced that a public debate on the law on land conversion would begin next week and added that the drafting of the amendments to the Law on State Survey and Cadastre is underway.

This will round off the set of regulations on construction and electronic construction permits will be introduced next year, Mihajlovic said and called on all local self-governments to provide assistance to investors interested in building in the country.
