Romanian-Turkish Strategic Partnership provides appropriate framework for intensifying bilateral military cooperation programmes
Consolidating the relations between Romania and Turkey and the security situation in the wider Black Sea region were the main topics of Thursday's official meeting in Istanbul between Romanian Defence Minister Mircea Dusa and his Turkish counterpart Ismet Yilmaz, according to a press release from the National Defence Ministry.

During the meeting, the two officials highlighted the common interest in developing training cooperation through the participation of the two armies' troops in joint drills in Turkey and in Romania.
Also, the two interlocutors remarked the excellent cooperation in defence intelligence.
"The strategic partnership between Romania and Turkey provides the appropriate framework for intensifying bilateral military cooperation programmes in view of meeting some common goals, such as the upgrading of the two armies, fighting terrorism, strengthening the Southeastern flank of the Alliance and supporting regional cooperation formats in Southeast Europe," said Minister Mircea Dusa.
