Face of Lenin’s first true love discovered

For many years, attempts at finding the photo of Apollinariya Yakubova, the woman considered by many historians as Lenin’s true love, proved futile.

 

The face of the woman that Lenin seems to have fallen in love with while he lived in London used to be unknown until recently.

 

This fact contributed to the mystery of this love which seems to have faltered due to strong political differences.

 

Camden New Journal recently publicized a photo of Yakubova which were discovered in forgotten Moscow archives by professor Robert Henderson.

 

According to the Independent, the photo of the woman seems to have been taken while she was in a Siberian gulag, where she was held for her political beliefs, before she managed to escape to England.

 

Many historians believe that Lenin never managed to overcome his love for Yakubova, who turned him down when Lenin asked her to marry him.
