ForMin Aurescu: We need an ambitious strategy agenda EU-wide
Romania's Foreign Affairs Minister Bogdan Aurescu believes an ambitious strategy agenda is needed EU-wide that provides credible and sustainable answers to the current issues, pointing out that Romania remains an active promoter of the EU's neighbourhood policy.

'I believe we need an ambitious strategy agenda EU-wide that will provide credible and sustainable answers to the current as well as medium and long-term issues. That, I believe, is the best answer to the anti-European rhetoric, which, unfortunately, is proliferating in some parts of Europe,' Aurescu told a conference on Friday on May 9, Europe Day.
He added that Europe Day is the best moment to be reminded of innovative and generous ideals, which, after WWII, have modelled Europe irreversibly.
'By the power of our shared will, by constantly consistent political action we will be able to achieve the objectives of a more integrated Europe that will be more influent worldwide in today's world. I am convinced unity should exist inside the EU so as to avoid any centrifugal tendencies because the answer to the challenges facing us is a shared responsibility of all European leaders, of all the member states,' said Aurescu.
In his opinion, the security context in the EU's neighbourhood is still problematic, and that is why Romania remains an active promoter of the neighbourhood policy.
'There are still many problematic aspects we have to manage together. As far as Romania is concerned, more unity and more solidarity is the only viable answer.
