Serbian president decorates Fidel Castro

BELGRADE -- President Tomislav Nikolic has decorated Cuba's leader Fidel Castro with the Order of the Republic of Serbia on a sash, according to the Official Gazette.

It was announced that Nikolic honored Castro in this way "for his outstanding contribution to developing and strengthening friendly relations and cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Cuba."

Last Friday in Moscow, the Serbian president met with Cuban counterpart Raul Castro.

Nikolic be visiting Cuba on May 18.
