Sakellarides indirectly verifies new… “fair” taxation

Government spokesman Gabriel Sakellarides indirectly verified rumors of new taxation, stressing that they will be characterized by social justice and will be based on development. He stressed that people who have paid for the crisis all these years will not be the ones paying these taxes.

He underlined that the government seeks a solution as soon as possible.  He also recognized that the government has had to back down on issues such as privatizations, the PPA, and others.

However, Mr. Sakellarides stated that the upcoming agreement will not be overlapping the “red lines” the government has set, stressing that the government does not wish for a break-off from Europe.
