Local Authorities in SE Europe Meeting in Bulgaria's Plovdiv
Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev is due to attend the Annual Forum of Local Authorities of Southeast Europe as the event is entering into its third day.
The forum, which is organized by the Network of Associations of Local Authorities of South-East Europe (NALAS) and the City of Plovdiv, kicked off Saturday.
Local authorities are now working on crisis management and ways to boost economic activity through cooperation.
May 18, which will be the last working day of the forum, will include keynote speakers as EU Commission Vice President Kristalina Georgieva, EU Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Commissioner Christos Stylianides, PM Boyko Borisov, and Regional Development Minister Lilyana Pavlova.
NALAS, set up in 2001, is a network of 16 associations representing about 9000 authorities which have been directly elected by more than 80 million citizens.
