Turkish blackmailer detained over fake modelling agency

A Turkish man has been detained in the Marmara province of Kocaeli over a fake internet modelling agency, following the complaint of a Romanian model, daily Milliyet reported.

The man, initialed E.Ç., was detained when the Romanian branch of Interpol issued a report to Turkey's Interpol branch regarding a model's blackmail complaint. Known as M.A., the model, who worked for the MAMA Agency, had been blackmailed with camera recordings and photographs which E.Ç. had recorded via Skype.

The Interpol in Romania took action when M.A. filed a report that E.Ç. had threatened to publish an old recording of her on the internet after she refused to re-record a video. 

The Kocaeli police have identified the-27-year old blackmailer, who is living in the Gölcük district. E.Ç. studied mechanical engineering and set up the fake modelling website in his spare time. The computer which was used for recording has also been seized.

In his testimony, E. Ç. confessed that he contacted models from various countries, especially from Ukraine and Russia, on the website he founded in 2012. He also said that he obtained more than 200 camera recordings and photographs of models over the last three years.
