Bulgaria's Interior Ministry Officials Protest for Fifth Consecutive Day
Bulgarian Interior Ministry officials protested for the fifth consecutive day on Tuesday, which also marked the third day of the tented camp in front of the building of the National Assembly in Sofia.
The protesters continue to demand the resignation of Interior Minister Rumyana Bachvarova and other high-level ministry officials, private bTV station reports.
Their discontent is directed towards the proposed introduction of minimum retirement age and the poor labour conditions, especially those experienced at the border with Turkey.
The officials of the Interior Ministry call for complete reform of the system, which would provide serious and lasting solution to the problem.
The protesters, who have a citizen petition running in their support, disagree with the pension reforms proposed by Labour Minister Ivaylo Kalfin.
