10th INmusic Festival Kicks Off in Zagreb

The 10th INmusic festival opens on Monday on Lake Jarun in Zagreb, bringing fans three days of rock and electronic music from popular bands around the world.

With multiple concerts happening at the same time, last year's festival attracted a record 70,000 visitors.

This year's line-up is headed by Franz Ferdinand, along with Placebo, Paolo Nutini, Of Monsters and Men, La Roux, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Eagles of Death Metal, Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls and many others.

Along with these world-famous bands, the festival will showcase some less known Croatian progressive rock bands, like Them Moose Rush, Killed a Fox and Discohernia.

The festival is also cooperating this year with Swedish association Studieframjandet, which is bringing ten young Swedish bands and DJs.

Alongside concerts, the festival will include the INtheatar festival, which will be putting on three plays in Croatian, one based on John Gray's bestselling book, 'Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus'.
 
Besides a camp, equipped with shops, computers, smart phone charging stations and wireless internet, the festival has some additional new features this time round. In partnership with Hungarian OTB Ban, visitors can buy a special festival card, entitling them to purchase drinks, food and other products at better rates.

The City of Zagreb is providing free public transport for festival visitors and laying on special buses to drive to the venue. Additionally, Croatian railways is offering a 40 per cent discounts to festival fans coming by train to Zagreb.

The well-known music magazine NME has praised the Zagreb festival, naming six reasons for going, including the "incredible" line-up, the location and value for money for ticket prices.
